My tiny foursome are learning new things everyday! No one is sitting up yet, though I blame this on the fact that they rarely get an opportunity to practice. When you have four babies, you usually have them all laying on the floor to play with them since you can't hold four in sitting positions while playing. They'll get there though, it's not like they aren't chugging right along with everything else. So, who is doing what? Well . . .
Brooklyn is rolling from her back to her tummy now (so far she is the only one). She became very good at it this last week and now she rolls across the room until she runs into something that stops her progress. Right now she is only proficient with rolling over the right, so she can only travel one direction. I also noticed today that she is trying to army crawl. She reaches with both arms and pushes with one leg. She is not very effective with this yet, but I'm sure it won't take long! She is also the most obsessed with her feet (I'm not sure the boys have even found theirs yet)
Gage is close to rolling from back to his tummy. He gets practically there, and then gets stuck. I think he's having difficulty lifting his giant head to finish the job :) He seems to be my closest on sitting. He can hold propped sitting very briefly and then tumbles over! He's still my VERY best eater and sleeper!! I think he would give up bottles and life solely on baby food if that were an option.
Westin . . . what can I say about Westin. He is doing a little less skills training than the rest of the crew. (You will notice that there are no pictures of him in this post, because I don't have any of him doing much). It's not that he can't, it's that he is not so interested. I think he will be my lazy one. He is able to reach and grasp for toys, he does it when he wants to, but most of the time he just looks at them when you try to give him one. He is able to roll from his back to his side, but doesn't do it as often as the others. He is babbling more than anyone else (though Brooklyn may be a close second). He will "talk" to you forever and he has the cutest voice. I think that maybe he already knows that he has a killer smile and figures, why work for it when you can flash a smile and get what you want :) You can just tell that he is more laid back about moving and shaking than anyone else. We do think he rolled from his back to his tummy today for the first time, though no one actually saw it, we just found him on his tummy when I know I put him down on his back. Maybe he does everything everyone else does, he just doesn't want us to know it . . .
Kynlee is trying to make a break for some freedom. She started getting up on all fours this past week. One day she was on her knees and her elbows, the next day she was on her hands and knees and the day after that she was rocking while on hands and knees! She may be crawling before we know it. When you put her on her tummy now, she almost immediately pops up onto hands and knees. She is beginning to move her knees a little and sometimes launches herself forward. I really don't think it will be long before she starts exploring (and once she learns, the others will probably not be far behind, they won't want to miss the action)
Now for the pictures:

Westin sounds about like Wesley. She had a pretty extensive vocabulary at her first birthday, but had only learned to crawl the month or so prior. Now, as a toddler, she's still pretty laid back. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they are all getting so big!!!!
