2 months

Keeping babies calm

The babies are 9 weeks old today and had their 2 month check up. Our pediatrician is still coming to our house (God Bless her) so we had a couple of hours of chaos by the time it was all said and done! Each baby got 4 shots today and the rotovirus vaccine by mouth (they've been sleeping since!) I hate shots, it always makes me sad, but they calm down so fast and honestly it's easier at 2 months than at 2 years when they can vocalize the pain with words:(

Dr. Landry was so impressed with how big everyone was and how well they are all doing. Three of the four still have some thrush on their tongues, but otherwise a clean bill of health. She said the thrush is hard to get rid of anyway, but because they were preemies their immune systems are a little weaker and that is why we are having even more trouble. She prescribed a new medication now that they are a little older and bigger. Hopefully it will knock it out once and for all! So two month reports:

Brooklyn

Height: 20.5 inches

Weight: 8 lbs 5 oz

Personality: She is so laid back and snuggly. You could just hold her quietly forever. She is having a little more trouble with head control than the others, so of course, mommy is going to put her boot camp. I think she is going to be my sweet mild mannered little girl. I guess only time will tell.

Gage

Height: 20.2 inches

Weight: 8 lbs 13 oz (he was smallest at birth and is now second largest!)

Personality: Gage is very observant. He stares and studies with big, wide eyes. He is pretty quiet overall and he seems very serious.

Westin

Height: 21 inches

Weight: 10 lbs 1 oz !! (Jackson was 10 lbs 4 oz at 2 months and he was born 4 weeks later!)

Personality: He still sleeps the most and he LOVES to snuggle. He can scream the loudest though when he does get mad! He has decided that being held is the way to go. If he is awake, he likes to be held and he is really starting to be more alert and wide-eyed. I think he may be my laziest baby.

Kynlee

Height: 20 inches

Weight: 8 lbs 1 oz

Personality: The tiny one, but make no mistake her size does not stop her from having a big personality! She is becoming a little demanding and requires the most attention to keep calm and quiet. When she starts yelling, she can get REALLY high pitched. I would actually use the word shrill to describe the noise she makes. She is a cutie though and she loves to look around and know what it going on.

They are all sleeping longer stretches (5-9 hours at a time) so we are definitely seeing light at the end of the exhausting tunnel. We are having fun and staying busy and wondering who these little people are going to become.
