These little people never cease to amaze me with their constant growth, blossoming and highly individual personalities and the joy they bring to the house everyday, along with the chaos and mess requiring constant attention :-) They are very much all over the place. They all cruise and transfer between surfaces. Everyone is starting to let go and stand independently for brief periods. Some more often than others. They are all champs at finger foods and it is AMAZING how much they can put away. I know there are four of them, but still, the amount of food some days astounds me! They will quickly eat me out of house and home as they get older I'm sure. I'm not looking forward to the years when I have 3 teenage boys in my house . . . yikes, but I have some time to save up for those years I suppose :-)
I'm not sure we'll have any walkers before a year, but I think Kynlee won't be long. When Jackson was little, I couldn't wait for him to do the "next" thing. I was so excited about every new accomplishment and so ready to see him succeed, but this time, while I still get excited, I also get a little sad. I LOVE crawling babies and it won't be long before I don't have any. I'm not really encouraging the walking (even though in some ways I think it will be helpful) because I'm not ready to see them grow up. I've even joked that if one of them starts taking steps soon, I might push him/her down just to prolong the process. (I am of course joking, but seriously, it will be a joyful and sad day when each of them takes his or her first steps!)
So, what's new with the little people, well . . .
Brooklyn
Weight: 17 lbs 6.5 oz (weights are all accurate for 11 months even though it has taken me forever to get this post up!)
Personality/Development: Still my snuggly sweetheart, but there is definitely a little naughty streak hiding under the sugar sweet exterior! She likes to take toys from her comrades and she can be pretty sneaky and very ruthless about it! Really they are all toy snatchers, but you can see Brooklyn planning her theft sometimes. She has stopped chewing on baby wipes for the most part, so that's good! She still snuggles with her blanket pal at night to sleep. I think one of the funniest new things she is doing is carrying toys in her mouth when she's crawling. The others will try to hold things in their hands and crawl, but not Brooklyn, she carries things around like a dog! She still smiles with a crooked grin that I love, love, love! She is a momma's girl through and through and when she sees me, she fights to get to me with a huge crooked grin on her face. Melts my heart every time. She now has four teeth (two on top and two on bottom). Brooklyn is cruising everywhere and standing independently briefly. I love this little girl!
Gage
Weight: 21 lbs 3.5 oz (a pound larger than Jackson was at a year!)
Personality/Development: Gage has kind of shifted from my serious baby to my constantly smiling and giggling baby. He is a momma's boy too! There is nothing better than when he sees me and just starts barreling toward me with the fastest crawl he can manage while he smiles and does that excited panting thing that babies do! He would stay near me all day. He likes to climb up me, hang out for a minute and then go back to playing while checking to make sure he knows where I am once in a while. Gage is still an eater! He can put away some food and he grabs fistfuls at a time when you put it on his tray, though he is the only one that still only has two teeth. Gage is also cruising every where and has just started letting go and standing independently for a few seconds. He started clapping this week too. I LOVE clapping babies! He likes to dance when there is music on and when he is excited he has his arms waving in the air! I love it.
Westin
Weight: 19lbs 9oz
Personality/Development: Westin has become my "easy" baby. He has become very independent and can usually be found doing his own thing, playing quietly and happily by himself. He does let you know if one of the "others" gets in his way or takes what he is playing with, but otherwise he's pretty quiet in his play. He is still my "talker." He loves to play with his mouth and tongue and has a wide variety of tongue play noises that he can make :-) He still has six teeth and I just love his HUGE toothy smile when he's happy and talking to you. I think he is going to be the saddest when I take away bottles because the kid drains his bottles, but is a little finicky about "real" foods. Like everyone else, Westin is a cruisin' fool. He is also letting go and standing independently, though not as much as everyone else. He and Gage have also both finally realized that they can sit without their hands. They've both been able to for a long time, but they finally KNOW they can and don't panic when they realize they are doing it. It's just second nature now. Westin is such a good baby and that smile can truly light up a room!
Kynlee
Weight:17lbs 15oz
Personality/Development: Kynlee is still a fireball. She loves people and she is such a happy baby. She can get VERY serious when she is unsure of something or is not getting her way, but mostly she's just happy . . . exuberant maybe is even a good word for her. She wants to be with a "big" person all the time. I think, because she can see more of what's going on when she is up. When she wants to be picked up, she bounces on her bottom until you pick her up. When you are holding her, she will look at you once in a while and just start in with her frantic giggling! She's too cute. The kid is a climber too. She can quite literally climb up you when you are sitting on the floor and she wants up. Kynlee has three teeth now. Her top left tooth just broke the surface this past week (8/4/11). I expect Kynlee to be the first one to walk, but we'll see! You can always count on this cutie to make you smile!
