Westin

Our sweet, quiet, easy Westin . . . oh how we love you!! When you were born, we thought you were going to be the big boy with those chubby cheeks that may have crossed line into the jowl category. You actually looked fat which is so funny for a 5 lb baby, but those cheeks were just so big! However, you have slimmed down and let your brother pass you up. Granna used to tease that you were going to be the couch potato because of your chub, but now we're not so sure . . .

As a little guy you were always pretty quiet, unless you were mad and then you would SCREAM!! One of my favorite early memories just like with Gage, was the way you used to watch your little light show every night laying on your stomach and picking up your head while it bobbled around on the little bit of head control you had. This never ceased to make Daddy and I laugh. Daddy's favorite time of the day is still when he puts you boys in your crib and then he makes faces and plays while the two of you just laugh and laugh. He especially loves your HUGE, cheesy grin.

You are so easy going most of the time and your face just lights up when you see your mommy or daddy. You do your own thing and you are just happy. But your pouty face is pretty good too. You can stick your bottom lip out soooo far!

My favorite baby Westin memory will always be the dimples and toothy grin, along with that fake sounding giggle. Yes, when you giggle, it sounds like you are faking it which is so funny. Sometimes you will crawl along just giggling to yourself. I guess the rest of us are not in on the joke! You are such a sweet boy. You love to give hugs and kisses and nothing melts my heart like you crawling to me as fast as you can with that sweet smile. I'm interested to see if you are always sweet and quiet, just doing your own thing or if this is just the calm before the storm . . . only time will tell.

You finally took for your first steps on Sept 29, right to mommy, but you haven't taken very many steps since. You have decided that it's funny to fall into mommy's arms when I try to get you to walk to me and you just laugh and laugh. Oh well, all in your own time I guess. Maybe I should enjoy the crawling time a little longer because you might be waiting to make trouble until you can walk, but I doubt. Can't wait to see what the next year brings for our sweet Westin!
